Update Your Profile Avatar

Step-by-step guide to updating your profile picture (avatar) in Kontext Platform, including cropping and upload requirements.

You can personalize your Kontext Platform account by uploading a custom avatar. This guide explains how to update your profile picture using the built-in avatar uploader.

How to Update Your Avatar

  1. Open Your Profile

    • Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the app.
    • Select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
  2. Hover Over Your Avatar

    • On your profile page, move your mouse over your current avatar.
    • A camera icon will appear over the avatar for uploading a new image.
    • If you already have a custom avatar, a trash/delete icon will also appear for removing it.
  3. Change or Remove Your Avatar

    • To upload a new avatar: Click the camera icon to open the avatar upload dialog.
    • To remove your avatar: Click the trash/delete icon. Your avatar will be reset to the default image.
  4. Select and Crop Your Image (if uploading)

    • Drag and drop an image file, or click to select one from your device.
    • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF (max 5MB).
    • The image will be previewed in a circular cropper.
    • Adjust the crop area and zoom as needed for best results.

Tip: For best results, use a square image and center your face in the crop area. Use a clear, professional image. Inappropriate images may be removed by administrators.

  5. Upload and Save

    • Click Upload to save your new avatar.
    • Wait for the upload to complete. You’ll see a success message if the upload is successful.
    • Your new avatar will appear on your profile and throughout the platform.

Troubleshooting

If your image fails to upload, check the file type and size. If the new avatar does not appear immediately, try refreshing the page. If you see an error, try a different image or contact support. If you remove your avatar and still see the old image, try clearing your browser cache.

Removing Your Avatar

To remove your avatar and use the default image, hover over your avatar and click the trash/delete icon. The default avatar will be restored immediately after removal.
